The GeoVision buildings layer contains a range of attribution associated with each building.

The geovision table for each state contains region features for each building, along with a unique and persistent BUILDING_PID value. It also contains information on the primary address and physical characteristics for each feature.

The following fields contain derived information:
Modelled Heights

In urban areas, values for the AVERAGE_EAVE_HEIGHT and MAXIMUM_ROOF_HEIGHT fields are derived from aerial or satellite imagery and elevation models. Modelled building heights are included for rural areas. These modelled heights are based on a combination of factors, including zoning, building size, and building shape.

The HEIGHT_CODE field identifies modelled values. Buildings with modelled heights are identified by a HEIGHT_CODE value if 2, while derived heights have a value of 1.
Primary Building

The PRIMARY_BLDG field contains a value of Yes for the building most likely to be the primary building on each property. In urban areas, this will generally be the primary residence or main building, while in rural areas it tends to be the residence or centre of operations. The primary residence is determined using a combination of zoning, building size, and building shape.

Building Volume

The BUILDING_VOL field contains an approximate derived building volume in cubic meters, based on the building’s area and height.

Storeys

The STOREY field contains an estimated number of storeys depending on the building’s ZONE and AVERAGE_EAVE_HEIGHT values.

Floor Area

The approximate total floor area of the building in square meters, derived from the STOREY field and the building’s area.
