This section describes two important features of GeoTAX, Usage Meter, and Confidence Score.

Usage Meter

Below image shows the "Usage meter" displayed upon login.

Usage meter has following properties:

  • The usage meter provides an overview of transactions made and transactions remaining for the current month
  • The dark shaded region on the usage meter depicts the number of requests made, also displayed in the center. The lighter non-shaded region of the usage meter depicts the number of requests pending; displayed below the usage meter.
  • If you exceed the allotted number of transactions, the usage meter reorganizes itself and changes color. The quantity of any additional transactions is displayed below the reorganized usage meter.
  • The billing cycle for the account is also displayed below the usage meter.

Confidence Score

Below image shows the "Confidence Score" displayed after a tax search.

Confidence Score denotes accuracy of the matched address. It has following properties:
  • Displayed in a percentage view.
  • Color coded for High and Low Confidence Score.
Color codes for Confidence Score:
  • Dark Green: If the address is matched to the level of building, parcel or street, the score given is 100% and above.
  • Green: If the address is matched to the level of center of a ZIP+4 segment, the score given is between 80% and 100%.
  • Red: If the address is matched to the level of center of a census block group or ZIP Code, the score given is below 80%
Note: A message displaying "We were unable to locate your input address at a high level of confidence. We recommend that you contact the listed tax jurisdictions to verify the tax rates." will be displayed for low Confidence Score.
