For all Geocoding datasets, the installation procedure is the same.

On Windows

  1. Access the Precisely Data Experience (PDX) website where data packages are stored (use the link in your welcome email).

  2. Download your packaged dataset and unzip it using a file decompression program. Make note of the directory where you save the files.

  3. Run datasets.exe, located in the root directory.

  4. Click Next on the Welcome dialog.

  5. To continue the installation, read and accept the license agreement. After you accept the license agreement, the installer checks to ensure you are licensed for the dataset you are trying to install. If the installer cannot find the license file, a dialog box appears, providing an option to browse to the file.

  6. Read the information in the readme file referenced in the installation dialog and click Next. If the Install Previous dialog appears, the installation has detected a previous data installation on your machine. To install with the same configuration settings as the previous installation, click Yes and proceed to Step 7. Click Tell Me More to view the configuration of the previous installation.

  7. Browse to the installation directory you prefer and click Next.

  8. Select the installation type and click Next. The Minimal, Full and Custom installations are determined by the way files are listed in the datasets.csv file.
    • Minimal – Installs the 'Primary Dataset' listed in the datasets.csv file.
    • Full – Installs all data product components based on your license file.
    • Custom – Installs the data products you select based on your license file and your set choices. For example, points datasets can have several choices, such as:
      • Primary Dataset
      • Reverse Geocoding Dataset
  9. Click Next on the Start Installation dialog. The installation program copies the selected data files into the specified directory. Click Tell Me More for a complete list of files to be installed.

  10. Click Finish on the Installation Complete dialog.

You have completed the data installation. Configure your applications as required to point to the directories where you installed the data.

Note: If you experience problems with the installed data, run the Checkread [chkread] utility to validate the data file. For more information, see Running the Checkread Utility.

On UNIX/Linux

For UNIX/Linux systems, you must select a binary for the target platform.

  1. Change to the directory to your desired platform. The following directories are available: AIX_7.1 HPUX_11.31 RH_8

    RH_EE_5.0 RH_EL_6.1 RH_EL_7.0 SOL_5.11 SUSE_11

  2. The directories are located at:
