Following new features are introduced in this release:

New supra-municipal layers:

Three new supra-municipal layers have been added to the data pack:

  • Territorial collectivity with departmental competences (CTCD_FRA)
  • City Attraction Area (AAV_FRA)
  • A layer with a single geographic object that represents the boundaries of the France (France_FRA).

The attributes of these layers (AAV, CTCD, CTCD_LIB) are also included in the Communes_TAGC_FRA base layer.

Addition of formats to the deliverables:

  • An SQL dump for PostGIS has been added, which allows you to load all the data via a single command in a postgres database environment with PostGIS extension. For more information about installing the FRANCIEMES for PostGIS, refer the file Installer_VersionSQL_PourPOSTGIS.txt in the DOCUMENTATION folder.
  • A SAS (non-geographical) format has been added for the use of statistical processing on the Table d'Appartenance Géographique des Communes (TAGC).

All data complies with the Official Geographical Code 2024

24 municipalities merged to form 11 new municipalities between January 2, 2023 and January 1, 2024. Conversely, 3 municipalities (Beaumont-les-Nonains in the Oise and L'Oie and Sainte-Florence in the Vendée) have left the perimeter of a new municipality to go back to their former municipality’s boundaries.
