To search for an address in the Finalist database using a ZIP Code, follow these steps:
- Click Database. The Database Viewer dialog box displays.
- Click the Mode for your search. You can select to choose information for a street, rural route/highway contract, or P. O. Box address.
- In the ZIP Code field, enter a ZIP Code to view a list of city names within that ZIP Code. After typing at least three numeric characters, a list of city names associated with the first three ZIP Code numeric characters displays. The list of possible city names gets smaller as you key in more of the ZIP Code.
- Click on a city name to see a list of streets for that city.

Click on a street name to view detailed information for the street specified. The Primary tab displays high and low range, predirectional, postdirectional, suffix, carrier route, EOB (even/odd/both/consolidated) range indicator, and high and low ZIP Code range, and ZIP Code.
The icons in the first column provide a visual representation of the address type.
- Firm
- Highrise
- Highrise with firm on first floor
- Alias street address
- P. O. Box
- Rural route address
- To view secondary information for a highrise, click on a highrise address. The Secondary Tab displays the secondary information for the specified highrise address. The Secondary Tab displays secondary range, unit, carrier route, EOB (even/odd/both/consolidated) range indicator, and high and low ZIP Code range. If available and applicable, the firm name displays in the Firm Name section. If the street includes a preferred or non-preferred alias street name, the Alias icon displays in the first column.
- To view base street information for an alias, click on an address with an alias icon. The Alias tab displays detailed information for the base address of the alias.
