EmergencyInfo Version is supplied in Esri Shapefile (SHP) and MapInfo Extended TAB file formats. The SHP format can contain the following file types:

Extension File Type
*.CPG An optional file used to specify the codepage identifying the character set to be used. *.CPG files are required for using the UTF-8 character set.
*.DBF

dBASE table used to store feature attribute information (required).

Note: There is a one-to-one relationship between geometry and attributes. This relationship is based on record number. Attribute records in the dBASE file must be in the same order as records in the main (*.SHP) file.

*.PRJ File used to store coordinate system information. Required in order to use WRS84 CRS.
*.SHP Main file used to store feature geometry (required)
*.SHX Index file used to store index of feature geometry (required)

The Extended TAB file set can contain the following file types:

Extension File Type
*.DAT Tabular data file
*.ID Index to graphical objects (*.MAP) file
*.IND Index to tabular data (*.DAT) file
*.MAP File containing geographic information describing map objects
*.TAB Main file for MapInfo table, associated with appropriate *.DAT, *.ID, *.IND, and *.MAP files

In order to properly use EmergencyInfo Pro, the following rules apply:

  • You must have access to all of the files in the file set
  • All files must be located in the same directory.
