The color of the boxes and the icons that are used to represent items in Impact and Lineage diagrams are determined on the Configuration pages:

  1. Navigate to the Configuration page for the asset type, for example, Configuration > Business Assets.
  2. Click the Edit button to the right of an existing asset type, or to add a new asset type, click Add.
  3. Select a Background Color to specify the color of the box used to represent assets of this type on diagrams.
    For example the Background Color of the "Business Glossary Terms" asset type is blue:

    Tip: It can be useful to set different colors on asset types at different hierarchy levels to help to differentiate them in diagrams.

    For example, if a visualization is set to Show all parent/owners, child asset types inherit the color from their parent. For example, the "Parent asset" asset type has a pink Background Color which is inherited by the "Child asset 1" asset type:

    If you change the diagram filter to Show direct parent/owner, then the box color changes to black to match the Background Color set in the configuration for the "Child asset 1" asset type:

  4. Choose an icon to represent the asset type:
