Introduced in version 12.0 Versions

In Data360 DQ+, versioning plays a crucial role in managing the lifecycle and integrity of data across various stages and data stores.

Accessing versions menu

In specific data stores and most other stages, depending on the explicit versioning option, the Versions menu can be accessed from the ellipsis (⋮) located at the right edge of the stage toolbar. This menu provides a centralized location to view and manage the different versions of a stage or data store.

Viewing version history

Upon accessing the Versions menu, a popup window will display the current and previous versions of the stage. This list includes detailed information about each version, such as:

  • Version: The identifier/number for the version.
  • Created by: The user who created or modified the version.
  • Creation Date: The date and time when the version was created.

This historical insight allows you to track changes over time and understand the evolution of their data processes.

Generating text representations

For detailed analysis or external audits, you can generate a text representation of any version of the stage. This feature is particularly useful for comparing different versions:

  • Within the same installation: Compare the stages or data stores within your current Data360 DQ+ environment.
  • Across different installations: Facilitate comparisons across different environments, which is beneficial during migrations or when working in multiple development and production settings.

The text representation can be exported and used in external tools for a side-by-side comparison, providing a clear and concise way to identify changes and ensure consistency across versions.
