The Metrics tab contains information about the profiled data in your data store and is only displayed if you have successfully executed a profile of your data store data. For more information about profiling data store data, see Profile.

The Profile Data Store Data table contains profile information about the data store fields. The following actions are available from the table.

View values

In the Profile Data Store Data table, select the row that corresponds to the field whose values you are interested in, and click View Values. A table is displayed containing the values found in the field. The data that is displayed is taken from the profile values data store specified on the Profile tab.

Click Back to Results to return to the Profile Data Store Data table.

View patterns

In the Profile Data Store Data table, select the row that corresponds to the field whose values you are interested in, and click View Patterns. A table is displayed containing the patterns found in the values in the field. The data that is displayed is taken from the Profile Patterns Data Store specified on the Profile tab.

Click Back to Results to return to the Profile Data Store Data table.

Apply semantic type

The Profile Data Store Data table includes a column called Semantic Type. You might need to scroll the table to view the column. If no semantic type has been identified for the data store field, the Semantic Type field is empty. If a semantic type has been detected, the value shown in this column for each field is one of the following:

  • A reserved Data360 semantic type, for example City, or State (US).
  • A custom semantic type that has been defined as part of a Rule Library, and which has been detected by a data quality check a match for the data store field.
Note: When an Data360 semantic type is displayed, the display name of the semantic type is displayed, for example City, and not the name of the semantic type as used internally, for example D3S.CITY. For a custom semantic type, the name that is provided in the rule library is displayed.

In the Profile Data Store Data table, select the row that corresponds to the field whose semantic type you want to update, and click Apply Semantic Type.

If the Semantic Type of the field is not already set to the value in the Profile Data Store Data table, the Confirm Apply Semantic Type dialog is displayed. Click Yes to update the semantic type of the data store field.

If the semantic type of the field is already set to the value in the Profile Data Store Data table, an error dialog is displayed.
