Pipeline UI

The pipeline page is divided into two main panels, each with its own controls and toolbars:

The pipeline panel

Positioned to the left of the page, the pipeline panel displays a selectable list of the pipelines and data stages that are available in the current environment. It also Includes:

  • Search and Filter fields.
  • A Refresh button.
  • A New Pipeline button.
  • A More options button.

If no entry in the list is selected, the only available choice when the More options button is selected is:

If at least one entry in the pipelines and data stages list is selected, the More options button displays a menu, which consists of:

  • Import definitions.
  • Delete.

    Opens the Confirm Delete window.

    CAUTION:
    This will delete all the selected data stages if confirmed, and cannot be reversed.

The pipelines are listed with its relevant paths and other data stages.

Each entry in the list has a checkbox to its left, the appropriate icon and its name. A More options menu is available, by right-clicking the appropriate entry. The contents of the menu vary according to the type of data stage.

Pipeline options

The pipeline More options menu provides the following choices:

  • New Path.

    Opens the New Path window, where you can enter the details of the new path, and determine its security settings. See Delegating rights to data stages for more details about security.

  • Delete.

    Opens the Confirm Delete window.

    CAUTION:
    This will delete the whole pipeline and its children if confirmed, and cannot be reversed.

Path options

The path More options menu provides the following choices:

  • New.

    Displays a list of data stage types. Click one to display the appropriate page or window, where you can define the new data stage.

  • Delete.

    Opens the Confirm Delete window.

    CAUTION:
    This will delete the data stage and its children if confirmed, and cannot be reversed.

Other data stage options

The other data stage More options menu provides the following choices:

  • View.

    Only available for Analysis data stages. Displays the relevant analysis diagram.

  • Edit.

    Opens a new page, where you can edit the data stage definition.

  • Delete.

    Opens the Confirm Delete window.

    CAUTION:
    This will delete the data stage and its children if confirmed, and cannot be reversed.

The management panel

Positioned to the right of the page, the management panel displays a toolbar at the top-right of the panel, and details of whichever pipeline or data stage that is selected in the pipeline panel. The buttons that make up the toolbar vary according to the pipeline or type of data stage that is selected. The possible combinations are given in the following table.

Toolbar button use

The individual toolbar buttons do the following:

  • New Path

    Opens the New Path window, where you can enter the details of the new path, and determine its security settings. See Delegating rights to data stages for more details about security.

  • Add Comment

    Opens the Add Comments window, where you can make a comment and add an attachment, if required.

  • Watching

    Opens the Watching window, where you can add watchers as either individual users or as groups.

  • Edit

    Opens a page, where you can edit the relevant information.

  • New

    Opens a dropdown menu, where you can add a new data stage. Click the required item to open the appropriate window or page.

  • View

    Displays the relevant analysis diagram.

  • Execute

    Opens a dropdown menu, where you can run the data stage, rebuild it, or view the execution history.

  • Collaborate

    Opens a dropdown menu, where you can select to add an annotation or comment.

  • Create Control

    Opens the Add Control window, where you can, for example, add a custom notification process or make the data stage visible to selected groups.

  • Pin

    Pins the dashboard to your home screen.

  • Data

    Opens a dropdown menu, where you can select the data-related action you want to carry out.

  • Executions

    Opens a page displaying the execution history.

  • More options

    Opens a dropdown menu, where you can select the appropriate option:

    • Delete.

      Opens the Confirm Delete window.

    • Find Usages.

      Opens the usages window, which lists where the data stage is used.

    • Show References

      Shows a list of references, if applicable.

    • Settings

      Opens the settings window, where you can edit the data stage's details and security settings.
