Open a run from the My Documents or Public Documents folder

Runs that relate to a schedule that you created, or that relate to a schedule that has been shared with you, are listed in the relevant My Documents or Public Documents folder in the Directory.

1. Navigate to the folder that contains the schedule for which you want to view runs.
2. Select the schedule for which you want to view a list of runs.
3. Click the run name. The run name is the date and time of the run shown in blue in the Runs list.

   Alternatively, click the menu button to the right of the run and select View Details.

4. Select the data flow that you want to view from the Run Details dialog. If a schedule contains a follow-up data flow, you can choose to view the details of either the initial data flow, or the data flow that is run on failure or on success of a preceding data flow.

Open a run from the Runs folder

The Runs collection gives a centralized view of all runs on the system which relate to a schedule that you have permission to view. The Runs collection allows you to quickly identify runs that have completed, failed, or are still in progress.

1. Select the Runs folder on the left of the screen.

   The most recently generated run is listed first. All runs are based on the most recent version of the corresponding data flow.

   Tip: Click Refresh to update the list of runs to show the current status of scheduled runs.

   The details of the selected run are shown on the right side of the screen. If a schedule contains a follow-up data flow, you can choose to view the details of either the initial data flow, or the data flow that is run on failure or on success of a preceding data flow:

2. Click the link in the Data Flow Run section of the details panel to open the selected data flow:

   

3. To search for a specific run, type the name of the corresponding schedule in the search bar.

   The list of runs is filtered to show only those that relate to a schedule that includes the typed text in its name.

   Note: The search is case sensitive.

Run status icons

Run status icon	Description
	The run completed successfully.
	An error caused the run to fail.
	The run was stopped or canceled.
	The run could not start because the previous run is still in progress. For example, if you have configured a schedule to execute your data flow every minute, but one complete run of your data flow takes two minutes, then you would see this status every other minute. You cannot open a run that has not started.

View and edit successfully completed runs

You can open a successfully completed run in read-only mode, with an option to edit the underlying data flow.

From the read-only view, you can complete the following actions:

• Inspect data in the data viewer, including the ability to apply filters and sort the data.
• Export data from the data viewer.
• Trace fields.
• View any errors in the Errors panel.
• Review properties in the Properties panel.

If you want to make changes to the underlying data flow, click the Edit Data Flow button.

Edit and continue failed runs

You can open a failed run to troubleshoot the errors, make modifications and continue the run.

1. Use the errors listed in the Errors panel to help you to identify the issues.

   Use the Run tab of the Properties panel to view the run property values that were used for the run.

2. If the run failed due to an intermittent issue, such as network connectivity, click the Continue Run button to run any nodes which have not yet been executed successfully and return to the Directory. The run will continue and the result will be updated in the Directory.
   Tip: The run date and time will show the original start time, not the time that you continued the run after it failed. The run duration will show the sum of the duration of all runs. For example, a run executes for one minute before failing, then runs for a further two minutes after you choose to continue the run. In this case, the duration is three minutes.
3. If you need to edit the data flow to fix an issue, click the Edit Data Flow button to open the failed run in edit mode. Data flow, node and run properties can be edited as needed.
4. When you have finished editing, save your data flow then click the Continue Run button to run any nodes which have not yet been executed successfully and return to the Directory. The run will continue and the result will be updated in the Directory.
   Note: You also have the ability to run nodes interactively, rather than clicking the Continue Run button. If you complete the run interactively, the run status does not update in the Directory.
   Note: Any modifications that you make to the data flow will apply to all future scheduled runs, and will be visible when viewing previous runs. However, changes to run properties will only apply to the current run.
