After installation on Windows server:

  1. Open the Windows Services dialog.
  2. Check that the user in the Log On As column has the required permissions to connect to external locations, such as (but not limited to) NAS directories and databases.

By default, this is set to the local system user. See Changing the Windows server services account ownership for more information.

Start Data360 Analyze for the first time before making any further configuration changes.

Once the application is up and running successfully, complete these suggested post-installation configuration tasks:

  • Enable execution sandboxing using Docker containers. If you are upgrading a Windows Server installation, it is recommended that you move any user defined mounts set by the ls.brain.server.docker.mounts property to the repositoryTargetMappings.json configuration file.
  • Setup access to file system locations and external drives by configuring the Data Repository. The ls.lae.filesystem.allowedTargets configuration should only be set after the system has been started for the first time.
  • Create and import users and groups.
  • Integrate Data360 Analyze with your LDAP/AD source system.
  • Install any required database drivers.
  • Import any existing data flows.
  • Add SSL certificates. If you are upgrading from 3.10.1 or higher, or 3.8.5 or higher on the 3.8.X series, any previously configured SSL settings are maintained across the upgrade. However, if you are upgrading from an earlier version you must reconfigure your SSL settings when the upgrade is complete.
  • Change the location of temporary files.
  • Configure system backup properties.
  • Configure schedule emails.
  • Configure the automatic clean up of scheduled runs.
  • Configure the usage data collection settings, if required.
  • Configure the timeout period.
  • Configure system credentials.
  • Adjust the Java heap space, if required.

You can read more about each of the above steps in the integrated product help, or on the Help Center.

The actual functionality of your installation may vary depending on your license and user role. To learn more our product, please visit https://www.precisely.com/product/precisely-data360/data360-analyze.

Changing the Windows server services account ownership

By default, Windows Services such as Server, Tomcat and Postgres use the LOCAL SYSTEM account, which does not provide access to external files. You can change this setting, however, to run as a service account, which enables Data360 Analyze to access files outside the server:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, open Services.

  2. Right click Data360Analyze-7731-Server > Properties > Log On.

By default, Log On As is set to the local system account.

  3. Select This account instead, and complete the Name, Password and Confirm Password fields.
  4. Repeat the above steps for the Tomcat and Postgres services.
  5. Give full access permissions to the service account for the data and site directories.
