Numerical precision with floating point numbers is dependent upon what the hardware can support. The greater the number of significant digits, the more likely you are to have problems maintaining accuracy.
When distributing data to a server of a different DBMS, the level of accuracy at the target may be different. Testing numbers that have large significance requirements is strongly recommended before you begin using them in a commercial environment.
