You choose data transformation methods from the drop-down list on the Sending Table Properties dialog, Mapping tab under Methods. The Predefined Data Transformation Methods topic lists the choices and their description. This topic also lists the name of the function and any parameters. To use transfer data as it is being distributed, you can use one of the predefined data transformation methods or you can use one that you create.
To use a data transformation method:

Under the source server, select the sending table and select Properties from its context menu.
The Sending Table Properties dialog displays.

Click the Mapping page.

Select the receiving server and receiving table from the drop-down list.
The table mapping on the Mapping page is populated.

Select Expression from the Method column of the target column to which you will distribute, and then click the Edit source button on the bottom right of the page.

In the Target Column Expression dialog, define and validate an expression that consists of the data transformation method you want.

Click OK; then continue your column mapping.

Complete your model and run your request.
When you distribute the data in this target table mapping, the source data is changed according to the data transformation method you selected.
Alternatively, you can:

Add other operators and methods to the expression containing your method.

Select your data transformation method directly from the Method column list on the Mapping page.
