This section details the java versions and jdbc drivers needed during install.

  • You must obtain your own Java JDK/SDK software for Unix and Linux operating systems.

  • Connect CDC does not support the Listener running on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10.These versions of Windows only support running the Connect CDC clients; Director, MonCon, Console and Jetty Web Server.
  • For Windows, the Windows Installation wizard installs the current versions of Java and the current JDBC drivers for the supported databases that are selected and configures JDBC and listener settings.
  • For DB2 on z/OS, follow the install instruction in the Connect ETL "Change Data Capture on z/OS Installation Guide".

Java 1.8 versions are certified with Connect CDC. Java J2SE SDK may be downloaded from the following sites:

JDBC Drivers

For IBM i, the JDBC driver is provided during installation. For Windows, the Windows Installation wizard installs the current JDBC drivers for the supported databases that are selected and configures JDBC and listener settings. For all other platforms, the user must obtain a JDBC driver since drivers are usually supplied with the databases.

The list below describes the driver locations for those drivers not provided by the user.
  • DB2 LUW:

    $DB2_HOME/sqllib/java

  • IBM i: JDBC driver is provided during installation.
  • Informix:

    $INFORMIXDIR/jdbc/lib

  • Oracle:

    $ORACLE_HOME\jdbc\lib

    Note: The Oracle driver version cannot be verified during installation because the Oracle driver class claims all drivers are version 1.0. Make sure that the correct driver version is provided during Connect CDC Installation. The Oracle12c driver requires the minimum JDBC driver version 12.0.
  • Sybase 15 is in:

    $SYBASE/jConnect-7_0/classes

  • Sybase 16 is in:

    $SYBASE/jConnect-16_0/classes

  • Teradata JDBC driver
