  1. Empty the replication queues. The replication queues must be empty before you can continue with the upgrade process.

  2. For System i5 DB2 or DB2 (LUW) the Change Selector should be stopped. This will allow any remaining captured data to finish replicating.

  3. For all other platforms, whether log based or trigger based capture, the tables enabled for capture will need to be in a quiescent state. This may involve restrictions in your applications that populate these user tables. Allow any remaining captured data to finish replicating

  4. Stop all requests in the model.

  5. Review the “Upgrade Information” section in the Connect CDC Release Notes to determine if source tables will need to have capture disabled. If so, then run the disable capture for the specified DBMS type.

  6. Shut down the kernel process for all hosts specified in the model.

  7. Shut down the Listener process for all hosts specified in the model. If an System i5 host is part of this configuration end the Connect CDC subsystem.
