To update a source table to test the replication of the updates, the connection you use must log in as something other than the replication user or the metabase owner. Data updates that the replicating user or the metabase owner perform are considered to be incoming replicated data and are excluded from replication.

When you bring up the Interactive SQL window and are prompted to select a connection ID, select an ID that is not defined as a “Rep user.” The logon ID definitions are found on the server’s Properties dialog, Server page by selecting the ID in the DBMS logon IDs list box.
