Before you can configure a model with the Connect CDC Director to work with remote journals, note the following:
-
You must edit the omnient.ini file. This file is located in the Connect CDC Director folder. For example, C:\PreciselyConnect\ConnectCDC58\director.
In the [Director] section of the file, add the entry DoNotValidate_Journal=1.This will bypass journal validation in the Connect CDC Director. The Connect CDC Director will not attempt to obtain the journal for the replicated tables and query its status. If the value of this flag is zero or if it is missing, then the default implementation is to validate the journal for the tables.
If the value of the flag “DoNotValidate_Journal” is 1, then the following rules will not be checked for during model validation:
-
Rule that checks “iSeries sending table must have a CS assigned to its journal.”
-
Rule that checks “An iSeries CS should have one or more replicated tables assigned to it via its journal.”
-
When tables are added to the model they will not display any journal status. The Journal Operations options will not be available in the Connect CDC Director.
-
The create CS process on the i5 sending node will not be created automatically during the mapping process, since the Connect CDC Director obtains the journal status of the table during the mapping. This process should be created manually. The default value of the CS is the name of the journal.
