For ease of use, you can commit a model in Connect CDC Director at almost any time since committing the model is separate from using the model.

Note: Do not commit a model during Model Update.Do not do a Model Update during a commit.

Since the Connect CDC Director informs the hosts one at a time, the Connect CDC Director may not be finished committing the model on all hosts when your Connect CDC MonCon session is notified that a new version exists.

If you initiate Model Update before commit completes on all hosts, you can get an error and the kernel could get into an inconsistent state. Check the following to determine whether the model commit has completed:

  1. If you have access to the Connect CDC Director, check that there is a message box saying “Model committed successfully on all hosts.”

  2. If you do not have access to the Connect CDC Director, click Get in the Model Update panel. The New Version field for all hosts is the latest committed version of the model. If this is not so, wait a short while and click Get again till the versions are the same on all hosts.

If the Current Version and New Version are the same, you cannot access Model Update.
