To change the colors on your window, select Tools>Customize. You must first highlight what you want to change. In the following example, Selected Items is highlighted, meaning that the color on an item that you highlight is to be changed.
To change the color around an item that you highlight to green, click the ellipsis to the right of Background. When you first open it, the dialog looks dark: Click the intensity bar on the right to lighten the spectrum of colors from which to choose and then click a color. The resulting color is shown in the strip at the bottom.
Click OK in the Color dialog. Click Apply in the Customize Window.
You have the ability to change other areas of the window in a similar manner. If you decide you do not like your changes, return to the Customize Window and click Default.
