When issuing a Model Update, Connect CDC stops the active requests, refreshes the model, and restarts the requests. If any of the requests have mappings to a target file system, the request restart performs like a regular start request. If the option to delete older target files (Delete older on start) on the Replication request Properties is selected, the files created immediately before the Model Update are deleted.
Therefore, it is recommended that you use the following steps to handle requests with flat files that have the Delete older on start option:
-
Manually stop the requests before doing a Model Update.
-
Process your flat files or move them so they will not be automatically deleted when the request restarts.
-
Issue the Model Update.
-
Restart the request.
