Once you have made the source and target tables in each server available to the model (using the Refresh Available Tables menu item), you define to the Connect CDC Director which target table(s) are to receive data from the source table.
-
Right-click your source table from the Available Tables branch on the source server, then select Select For Distribution>This Table Only.
-
In the Distribute Tables dialog, you select the server that contains your target table, and click OK.
In this example, the Connect CDC Director finds a table with the same name (case may be different) on the target, although not all column names match:
The Connect CDC Director creates a mapping that associates your source and target tables. In the Connect CDC Director tree, these changes occur:
-
The icon for your source server changes its pointing direction and its color changes to pink.
-
Your source table moves from the Available Tables branch to the Sending Tables branch.
-
Your target table displays in the Target Tables branch immediately below your source table.
-
The Receiving Tables branch of your target server displays your target table and the source table to which it is mapped.
