As with other Windows applications, you may use keyboard shortcuts as alternatives to using a mouse to select an item from a menu. Some helpful shortcuts are as follow:

To access a context menu, press the Application key, often located between the [Alt] and [Ctrl] key on the right side of the keyboard.

To minimize, press [Alt] + [space bar] to bring up the File Menu. Then use the down arrow key to highlight Minimize.

To maximize a program that you have open in an active window, press [Alt] + [space bar] to bring up the File Menu. Then use the down arrow key to highlight Maximize.

To maximize a program that you have minimized, press [Alt] + [Tab] to bring up a window with icons for all the active programs. Continue to hold down the [Alt] key and press [Tab] repeatedly to cycle through the programs that are open on the toolbar until the one you want is selected (has a square around it). Release the [Alt key] and the selected program pops up.

To expand a tree view item, select it and use the [+] key on the numeric keypad; to collapse, use the [-] key on the numeric keypad.

Use the Left arrow to collapse the tree or the Right arrow to expand it.

Use the [space bar] to check/uncheck a selected tree item that has a box in front of it.

Use [F4] to open a drop-down list and view all its list.
