Before you upgrade a metabase, stop any requests and kernel processes and disable the change capture feature in Connect CDC MonCon or Connece CDC Console.
- Right-click the server, then select Install Target Only Metabase in the menu that displays. Note: The PostgreSQL server cannot be a source, only a target.
If the metabase already exists, a message similar to the following displays:
- Do one of the following:
-
Click Yes to drop and recreate the existing tables. In addition, new replication indexes are applied to the newly created replication tables. The metabase and user are not deleted.
- Click No to drop and recreate only the existing replication indexes. Everything else will be left untouched.
- Click Cancel to stop the upgrade.
If you clicked Yes or No, a window displays the steps that will be taken.
-
- Review the text to determine if you need to make any adjustments. The text indicates:
- PostgreSQL server version on which the metabase will be installed.
- Current status of the metabase, if any, as detected by the Connect CDC Director.
- Sequence of operations about to be performed.
- Click OK to upgrade the metabase.
- Click Yes in the confirmation window that displays to upgrade the metabase.
An output window displays a log of the SQL statements sent and any errors that occur. The contents of this window can be printed, saved, or copied.
When the metabase has successfully installed a message displays.
- Click OK.
