You can commit a model with the model in Offline mode: Enabled, for example, for model-testing purposes. You use the Commit Model dialog just as for online commits, and the Connect CDC Director generates files (modelname-network.xml and modelname-dataflow.xml) for each participating sending server.

Note: In offline mode, Connect CDC lets you model without making server connections.

To complete an offline commit

  1. Enable offline mode by doing one of the following:

    • Clicking the toolbar icon.

    • Select Offline Mode from the File menu.

    • Clicking the Options toolbar icon (or by selecting Options from the View menu) and then selecting the Enabled checkbox for the Offline mode option.

If the offline commit is successful, the .xml and .cfg files for each sending server are created in the same directory in which the model (.rsm file) resides.

If the commit is unsuccessful, you receive a notification that you have validation errors, or you receive commit error messages. To view the validation error messages, validate the model (click the Validate toolbar icon). Resolve these errors, and try again to commit.

  2. Once the commit is successful, copy the .xml to the hosts.

  3. Update the .cfg files for Change Selectors for IBM i and UDB.

  • Select the process name.

  • Right click to bring up the context menu.

  • Select Update Configuration File.
