After your model has been running, you can perform an incremental commit in which the Connect CDC Director writes additional information to the model XML files. The additional information contains a list of tables that have changed since the last commit, so these tables can be re-enabled for capture, significantly reducing time when you do a Model Update in Connect CDC MonCon.

Note: Do not commit a model during a Model Update.
  1. Right-click the EDMM, then select Commit>Incremental or click Incremental Commit  on the toolbar.

The Commit Model dialog is displayed. Servers that have changed since the last commit are listed in this dialog. The symbol x at a host in this dialog means no connection. Only servers that have changes are listed.

  2. Review the Remarks column for each server in the server name column, and make sure you are ready to commit all the servers listed.

  3. Click OK to begin the commit.

If the commit is successful, you can update the model and monitor and control your data using a monitoring and control tool, such as Connect CDC MonCon.

If the commit is not successful, trouble-shoot the problems. See Commit step fails.

Note: All hosts must have access to the XML files. Even intermediate hosts without servers need the XML for the Path definitions.
