The SQDmon utility communicates with sqdaemons on both local and remote platforms to assess the status of the agents managed by the sqdaemon. Some functions are restricted to local operation as well as the sqdaemon's host platform:
Command (platform hosting sqdaemon) | Agents type | Description |
---|---|---|
inventory | N/A | Displays the list of agents defined in the sqdaemon sqdagents.cfg file and their operating status. |
reload (local only) | N/A | Instructs the sqdaemon to reload its configuration files and in the case of Capture/Publishers, their configuration .cab files. |
display (z/OS) | Capture/Publisher | Displays detail level status and statistics snapshot of Capture/Publisher agents. |
display (Linux, AIX, Windows) | Capture/Publisher/Engines | Displays detail level status and statistics snapshot for Capture/Publisher and Engine agents. |
start (Linux, AIX, Windows) | Engines | Instructs the sqdaemon to start an Engine* agent. |
stop (Linux, AIX, Windows) | Engines | Instructs the sqdaemon to stop an Engine agent. |
Shutdown | N/A | Instructs the sqdaemon to end itself. |
Access to the sqdaemon by SQDmon is controlled by a public/private key authentication scheme and by the sqdaemon's Access Control Configuration (acl.cfg) file.
