When an Engine is started, the Engine will make its first request for a CDC record. The engine does not need to contain any initialization logic because the first request is directed to the source URL specified for the Engine. That message will be received by the remote Capture Controller Daemon which will initiate a series of back and forth messages to complete authentication of the Engine's initial request. Once satisfied the Controller Daemon will transfer control to the Capture/Publisher Agent which will past the first Change Data Capture (CDC) record to the Engine, which will process and then request the next CDC record. This begins the standard Engine processing cycle which will continue until the Engine is stopped, the Capture/Publisher is stopped or an error condition occurs.
Note: If the Capture/Publisher was configured for NaCL Payload Encryption a second handshake will be performed with the Engine and then all CDC data will be encrypted before being transmitted to the Engine.
