The IMS Log Reader Capture supports the capture of changed IMS data from the both batch and on-line recovery logs made by IMS transactions (MPP), Fast Path transactions (FPP), CICS/DBCTL transactions, batch message programs (BMP) and DL/I Batch programs. IMS capture (SQDIMSC) picks up all x'99' (CDC records) no matter if the transaction is committed or not and writes them to a z/OS System LogStream. It is the job of the publisher to determine whether a transaction has been committed or rolled back. The zLog Publisher component then manages the captured data by communicating with downstream Engines via TCP/IP. Once an individual Unit-of-Work has been forwarded to all target Engines and consumed, the CDCzLog Publisher deletes the data from the LogStream.
