The LogStream Connection Pooler (LSCP) is an optional, but recommended, component that manages LogStream connections initiated from multiple dependent regions. It conserves System Logger resources by sharing a single LogStream connection among all CDCzLog based Capture agents running on the same system. It is particularly useful in environments with large numbers or long running BMP activity. With LSCP, each LogStream has only one (1) connection vs one (1) for each dependent region. It eliminates enqueue delays during IMS region termination caused by LogStream disconnect processing, and isolates the IMS region from error recovery processing associated with LogStream activity. LSCP monitors System Logger and LogStream availability via the Event Notification Facility in order to respond more efficiently than is possible for CDCzLog based Capture agent running in an IMS region. LSCP commands are available to display connected LogStreams, client IMS region address spaces, and write activity.

The LSCP main task load module is part of the base Connect CDC (SQData) IMS installation. Step SQDALSCP in member SQDLINKI in the SQDATA CNTL library links the main task load modules.
