When working in a Multiplatform environment (i.e. UNIX, Windows, etc.) you may choose to use file extensions either as an alternative to the File Type directory structure or simply to facilitate launching an editor based on those extensions. When they are used, it is important to maintain consistent file extensions for the different types of parts.
The following table outlines the recommended file extensions in a Multiplatform environment.
Extension | File Type |
---|---|
sqd | Source Engine script and "included" called Procedures and Function Procs |
prc | Parsed script, output from the Parser component |
prt | The report produced by the Parser component |
rpt | The runtime report produced by the Engine |
log | Diagnostic output from Connect CDC SQData component when requested using sqdlog.cfg parameters |
ddl | Relational DDL table definitions |
dbd | IMS database description (IMSDBD) |
cob | COBOL Segment/VSAM copybook layouts |
dtd | XML DTD definitions |
lod | RDBMS Load Control |
