This section provides information about how to diagnose and correct problems with the Apply Engine.

Diagnosing Apply Engine problems

Apply Engine Engine problems are generally associated with errors with the source datastores, target datastores and/or the contents of source datastores. Some points to consider regarding the the Apply Engine are listed below.
  • Datastores (source and target) must exist and be accessible to the Engine during execution. This includes files, IBM MQ, database files and database connections.
  • Any errors in processing a datastore will result in the Apply Engine terminating with a return code of 8 or higher. Any source records not processed are preserved.
  • The Apply Engine Engine Report provides statistics about the number of input/source records processed and the number of target records written. Please refer to the Apply Engine Report for more information regarding these statistics.
