A label can be applied to a map object using several different methods. To label a selected object, click the Label button and select the object. The label will appear at the specified point. The font and size of individual labels can be adjusted by double-clicking the label and making changes in the Label Style dialog.

To generate map labels automatically, open the Layer Control dialog and check the Auto Label option for the layers to be labeled. Objects will be labeled automatically according to the settings for that layer. To change these settings, select the layer using the Layer Control dialog and click Label… Label content, visibility, position, and style for the layer can be adjusted.

You can also add your own map annotations using the Text button. Refer to MapInfo Pro's documentation for information about using this feature.
