The General Community Profile contains a series of tables showing the characteristics of persons, families and dwellings in a selected geographic area. The July 2022 release of the General Community Profile included 42 tables (71 separate files) covering over 10,000 variables. This second release includes 20 tables focusing on characteristics relating to education, employment and transience.
Precisely uses the additional releases to construct a dataset of variables and derived values that make it easy for users to gain additional insights into demographic factors affecting their activities. These variables have been chosen specifically to reflect relevant characteristics of the population, build on the variables that have been included in the Base Demographics Release 1 dataset and are in line with similar Precisely datasets in other geographies around the World.
Basing the data provided at the Statistical Area Level 1 means that users can easily roll the data up to other relevant geographies as required. To enable this, the dataset includes reference values for the ASGS hierarchy of Statistical Area geographies as well as Greater Capital City and State levels.
