When you use the Scheduler to schedule a run in advance, Studio automatically connects to SAP, runs the transaction on the schedule you set up, and then closes the connection with SAP. Studio can send an email notification confirming that the scheduled job was performed.
Use Studio to schedule a script
Schedule Local: Schedule to run from your computer
- Click the File tab from Studio, click Transaction Solution Library, and open the solution that you want.
- On the Run tab, click the Schedule arrow and click Schedule Local.
- In the Automate Scheduler box,:
- Choose SAP server for schedule.
- In the Title box, type the title you want Studio to show in the list of scheduled tasks.
- In the Send Email Notifications To box, type the email
address where you want to receive scheduling notifications.
- Use commas to separate multiple email addresses.
- If you are using an Exchange server to send email notifications and using an Excel or Access data file, you can include the results file with the email message by checking the Attach data file box. To set this up, provide the Exchange server details in the Studio options.
- In the Reason box, you can change the reason for the run.
- Click Next.
- Click One Time, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

Choose the recurrence options you want.
- Under Advanced Settings, you can choose to run the script multiple times. For example, if you want to run the script monthly on the fifth day, and you want to run the script at the beginning and the end of the day, check the Repeat task every box, click 12 Hours, and click 1 Day.
- To stop running the scheduled script, check the Expires on box and then enter a date and time.
- Click Finish.
Schedule Server: Schedule on Server with No Data Review process
- If the approved script and data file are not already open, click the File tab, click Transaction Solution Library, and open the script that you want.
- On the Run tab, enter the data to upload.
- Click the arrow under Schedule and click Schedule Server.
- Save the data file to your computer.
- In “Save to library” pop up, edit file name (optional) and click Ok.
- Select the SAP system.
- In the Automate Scheduler box, enter the start date and the start time.
- Click Finish.
Server based posting and scheduling is supported in Studio Manager for Standard workflows for Excel files.
Use the Excel Add-in to schedule a run
Schedule Local: Schedule to run from your computer
- Launch Excel and open a new blank workbook.
- Click the Studio tab and log on to Studio.
- Click the Evolve tab, click Open, go to My Template, click Open Transaction Data Template, and open the data file.
- Go to Studio tab, click on the arrow in Schedule, choose Schedule Local.

Schedule Sever: Schedule on Server with Review and Post - One Step process/ Review and Post - two Step process
After the data file has been submitted and approved, you can schedule the data file run.
- Launch Excel and open a new blank workbook.
- Click the Studio tab and log on to Studio.
- Click the Evolve tab, click Open, go to My Template, click Open Transaction Data Template, and open the data file.
- Go to Studio tab, click on the arrow in Schedule, choose Schedule Server.
- Select the SAP system.
- In the Automate Scheduler box, enter the start date and the start time.
- Click Finish.
Server based posting and scheduling is supported in Studio Manager as well.
For 1 step and 2 step review process for manual run on performing Schedule server action, only one schedule action is allowed. For second attempt, there will be a message guiding that if it is required to edit the scheduled job, it is possible from Evolve/Studio Manager UI if required.
Change the schedule or stop scheduling a run
- Click the File tab.
- Click Scheduled Tasks.
- Click Delete, or click Edit to make changes in the Automate Scheduler box.
Limitation
If template contains cell comments, drawing objects, pivot table, and form controls (such as buttons, check-boxes, list boxes) then these control will not be preserved from Excel files.
