It can be unclear whether or not an RFC trace file has been generated. In addition, if an RFC file has been generated, it's location can be unknown.
To determine where an RFC file has been generated given the scenarios below, follow these steps:
1. If the logged-in SAP server is picked from ini, and the ini file location is not %windir%, then the trace files are generated in the INI file directory.
2. If the logged-in SAP server is from Foundation or Evolve, or the ini file location is Windows directory, then there are two possible cases:
- If the environment variable "RFC_TRACE_DIR" is set, trace files are located in the directory included in the value of the environment variable.
- If the environment variable "RFC_TRACE_DIR" is not set, trace files are located in the directory where the Studio.exe was launched.
To generate the RFC trace files at the "C:\Program Files\Automate\Studio" folder location, the Studio client application must be opened using the Run as Administrator option.
Proper permissions to write traces in any of the directories noted above must be present; otherwise, trace files will not be generated at "C:\Program Files\Automate\Studio" (due to the permissions issue).
