Installer Execution Screens
During the installation of Worker, you will move through the screens listed below. The side panel on each screen includes information relevant to the screen you are working with.

The Welcome screen includes the product name and version, and links to system requirements, the Precisely website, and Customer Support.
If you want to stop installation, click Cancel. Click Next to proceed.
The Terms and Conditions screen allows you to accept or decline the terms and conditions, and you can print the page.
Note: The default security settings in IE 11 on Windows Servers block the scripts needed for System requirements URL to operate correctly.
For the link to work properly, add the following entries in the trusted sites list of IE 11:
The Preinstallation Check screen notes the availability of required applications, services, and environments. For the Worker Installer, preinstallation checks confirm the following: 9
- OS - Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or 2019
- PowerShell 5.1 or above
- Microsoft .Net 4.8.x
If not already installed, Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 and 2019 redistributable will automatically be installed.
If the requirements have not been met, the status of each requirement is indicated and Next is disabled. Click Back to return to the Terms and Conditions screen. If you would like to stop the installation, click Cancel. When all requirements have been met, click Next to continue.
The Configuration Checklist screen lists remaining details required for a successful installation:
- A valid Evolve URL for Worker association
- The number of Worker Services
- A valid Worker Service identity that runs the Worker Service
Click Back to return to the Windows Features screen. If you want to stop the installation, click Cancel. Click
Next to proceed.
On the Worker Setting screen, you can enter the Studio Manager server URL, the number of Worker Services, and the user account details.
For DB authentication, you can select a Built-in Account or a Custom Account.
- For a Built-in Account, select either Local System or Network Service.
- For a Custom Account, enter your Username (domain\userid) and password.
You can create a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 Worker Services.
Worker Services accounts are provided access to the Studio Manager DB with the WSDBAccessRole role, and they are provided access to the Reporting DB with the WSDBReportRole role.
When you click Next, the Installer validates the information you provided. If the validation fails, an error message will be displayed.

- The Studio Manager URL must be included and it must be valid.
- Worker Services must be indicated with a numeric value, and they must number 1, 2, 3, or 4.
- For a Custom Account, the username and password fields must be completed, and the username and password must be valid. Note a-c belows:
The Installer account must have one of the following:
- If the Studio Manager Server Installer database creator account has SQL Authentication, the Studio Manager Server connection string will contain the SQL authentication: Worker will not connect to SQL, and permissions and user access checks will not occur. In addition, DB checks will be skipped and Worker will proceed with the next step of the installation.
- If the Studio Manager Server Installer database creator account does not have SQL Authentication, the Installer account must have the security admin role on the SQL server used for installation and the DB owner role on the Studio Manager database. The Worker Installer supports AWS RDS.

Special characters are supported for the username and password.
Click Back to return to the Product Configuration screen. If you want to stop the installation, click Cancel. Click
Next to proceed.
If Group Managed Service Account selected, then Username should be like domain\account$ (last character should be $).
User authentication check will be skipped.
Note: Group Managed Service Account should be configured on installed machine. On Evolve/Worker Installation, if Group managed account is used as app pool user then Installer will not be validating the account so customer must provide correct and valid value.
On the Installation screen, designate the destination directory for installation. You can either use the default path provided or click Browse to select a different path.
Note: A warning message is displayed if the provided installation directory is not empty when installing for the first time. It is recommended that user should provide an empty directory and then proceed for the installation.
The Installer checks for the Available Space and Minimum Space Required on the selected disk. If the available space is less than minimum space required, you will see the message below. The minimum space required is 23 equal to the total space of Installer source + 20% of the total space of Installer source.
Click Back to return to the Worker Settings screen. Click Cancel to stop the Installer process and Next to proceed. At this point, you can confirm the product configurations, as in the screen below:

Next, the Setup Status screen displays the progress of the installation.
The Finish screen indicates a successful installation and includes the queues which are created with the machine name are created by the application. If you delete these queues, they are automatically recreated after resetting the IIS.
Enter your login credentials. Automate Evolve prompts you to review and agree the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and End User License Agreement (EULA). Read the terms and conditions carefully. To proceed, click I Agree. The Global admin accepts the EULA on behalf of all end users.
You have successfully logged in as Global administrator.
If Worker Services have not started, the Installer displays the status with the message highlighted
below, “The Installer is unable to start Worker Service(s). Please try manually.” installer logs and configure it manually.”
If Worker Services have not started with Group Managed Service Account, the Installer displays the status with the message highlighted below, “Installer is not able to configure the Worker Service(s) with Group managed service account. For more information, please check the
- If you are doing a fresh installation of Worker and there are keys for SAP GUI
entries, the Installer sets those keys to zero. If keys for SAP GUI entries do not exist,
the Installer establishes new keys with a default value of zero.

Upgrade
The Installer uses the version code to determine if you are doing a fresh installation or an upgrade. If you have already installed the application, the latest version of the Installer will be installed. The Installer automatically detects the latest version and an upgrade Welcome screen comes up.
We recommend taking a snapshot of your current VM state before beginning the upgrade.
The Installer automatically detects if an older version has been used. If an older version has been used, an
error message is displayed. 30

The Pre-Installation Check screen confirms the prerequisites for the Worker service installation.
The Installer pulls Worker settings details from the Winshuttle.Finx.WorkerService.exe.config file before proceeding with the upgrade.
If Worker Services are in use, a Files in Use screen displays a list of Worker Services.
The next screen indicates the progress of the upgrade installation.
The Finish screen indicates a successful upgrade and notes the configuration. Click Finish to launch the site.Note that the shuttle rule file is not retained; the upgrade replaces it with a new file. Create a backup of your shuttle rule file before proceeding with the upgrade.
Note: When you upgrade Worker, retain existing SAP GUI entry key values. If keys for SAP GUI entries do not 37 exist, the Installer establishes new keys with a default value of zero.
