Types of usage information tracked by Automate Connect

The following information is tracked for Automate Transaction and Automate Query usage:

  • Total records uploaded to or extracted from SAP.
  • Total time saved: For Transaction, displays the calculated total time saved in hours (hhmmss) and in working days (00.0) for a Full Time Equivalent (FTE).
  • Names of Transaction or Query scripts used.
  • Recording mode used to create the scripts.
  • The data file name used with each script.
  • The upload or download date and time.
  • SAP system used for the run.
  • SAP name of the user who created the script.
  • SAP client used to run the script.
  • Run reason, if any is specified.
  • Records processed in the run.
  • Errors identified during the run.
  • Total time for the upload or download, displayed in the format hh:mm:ss.
  • T-code or tables used to create the script.

Working with dashboard reports

Dashboard reports include the following:

Productivity dashboards Quality dashboards Administration dashboards
  • Cost Savings (Dollars)
  • Time Savings (Hours)
  • Scripts Processed
  • Records Processed
  • Average processing time
  • Errors
  • Activities by Modules
  • Automate License
  • Active users
  • SAP System Use

Each dashboard has different options available for filtering data. Not all options apply to all dashboards. The list below briefly describes each option.

  • T-code: View data by T-code.
  • Table: View data by Table (Query scripts).
  • User: View data by user.
  • Modules: View data by module--for example, All, Transaction, Query, etc.
  • Settings: Some dashboards enable you to configure different data variables. For example, for the Cost Savings (Dollars) dashboard shown below, you can specify a Rate amount per hour.
  • Full screen: View the dashboard full screen for easier viewing.
  • Top <X>: View according to the Top 5, 10, 15, or 20 entries.

Working with usage reports

  1. Under Modules: select a module (Query, Transaction, etc.)
  2. Under Email: (Optional) Type a user email (if you want to search a specific user).
  3. Under From:, type a start date (mm/dd/yyyy), or click to select one from the calendar.
  4. Under To:, type an end date (mm/dd/yyyy), or click to select one from the calendar.
  5. Click View Usage Log.

How to export and view Automate Connect log files

  1. In the list of log files, click View Details.

  1. Above the list of usage logs, click Export.
  2. In the Explorer window, next to File name, type a new file name or keep the default.
  3. Browse to the folder where you want to save the log file.
  4. Click Save.

The Automate Connect Audit log

The Audit log is available to on the Automate Connect Administrator site and can be accessed by Automate only; it is not accessible to Connect customers.

  • Automate can audit user actions for all site activities performed by customers for their respective Automate Connect site.
  • Audit logs are not affected by the privacy mode for your Connect site.

The Audit log contains the following information: 

  • User creation/deletion
  • License assignment/revocation/transfer
  • The last checkout date/time for a client
  • Customer Job title creation/deletion
  • Customer Department creation/deletion
  • Changes made to personal/contact information and/or privacy mode changes.
