The preferred way to update license keys is to address them as part of retrieving and applying a license key package (LKP). However, you may need to change a license key for a product or feature if the software was initially installed with a temporary key or when you need to upgrade the IBM i system. If you do not have a license key for a product you installed, contact your Precisely sales representative.

Each license key is unique for the product or feature and system for which it is created. Keys must be applied to the system for which they are created.

To change a license key, do the following from the system for which the key was created:

  1. Type LAKEVIEW/WRKLICKEY and press Enter to access the Work with License Keys display.

  2. Locate the correct license key, system, and Serial-LPAR, type 2 (Change) next to it and press Enter.

  3. On the resulting Change License Key (CHGLICKEY) display, type or paste the key in the License key prompt.

Note:  A license key has 37 characters. The first two characters are identifiers followed by a set of characters and hyphens. The hyphens are required. For example: H1-nnnnnn-nnnnnn-nnnnnn-nnnnnn-nnnnnn.
  4. Press Enter.
