The Assure MIMIX and Assure iOptimize portal applications, when made available to the Assure Unified Interface server, use IBM i server ports to access required services provided by IBM i Host Servers. To ensure that the IBM i Host Servers are active, enter one of the commands to either start all servers or start only required servers:

STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*ALL)

or

STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*CENTRAL *DATABASE *DTAQ *FILE *RMTCMD *SIGNON *SVRMAP)

 

The IBM i Host Servers must also be active when you add or change a MIMIX or iOptimize product instance in the Instances portlet. If the servers are not active, an error message is displayed when you attempt to select a portal connection for discovery in the Add Instance or Change Instance wizard. The error message indicates that the wizard cannot connect to the IBM Host servers. Use one of the commands listed above to the start the IBM i Host Servers.

 

On the Assure UI server, you can use the Host Server Details action for a portal connection to an IBM i node to check whether host servers needed by deployed portal applications whose products run on the node are available.
