Most subscribed events can either use the subscription's delay time or specify a delay time that overrides the delay value for the subscription. For events that allow the delay value to be changed, the subscription owner or the Assure UI administrator can change the delay time.
Do the following from the Subscriptions page to change the delay time for a specific event:
Select the subscription from the Subscriptions portlet.
Select the Details action for the event in the Subscribed Events portlet.
For the Delay after event field, select either to use the subscription value or select Specify and specify a number.
Click OK.
The delay time determines the amount of time that the Assure UI portal waits after an event occurs before taking the specified action. If the event corrects itself before the delay ends, no action is taken.
An appropriate delay value can minimize the number of actions the Assure UI portal takes for events that may correct themselves automatically. For example, threshold conditions are often transient. If your environment frequently approaches thresholds on critical processes during peak processing times, a higher delay value may be appropriate on a subscribed event that checks for processes approaching thresholds. A delay value slightly lower than the duration of your peak processing would allow subscribers to be notified of threshold conditions during regular processing and reduce how frequently subscribers are notified during peak processing.
