The topics in this section describe how to configure subscriptions within the Assure UI portal. The portal uses subscriptions to automatically perform actions or activities, such as emailing one or more users or sending a notification (trap) to an SNMP monitoring software application, when certain events occur within instances.
Each configured subscription identifies an instance to be monitored, which events to report, and what action the portal should take and who to inform if the event occurs.
Each portal application that supports subscriptions provides a set of events that could occur in the product. When a subscription is created, the events which are considered best practice to monitor for are automatically associated with a subscription. Portal applications may provide additional events that you can add to a subscription. You can also remove events from a subscription.
When a monitored event occurs within an instance for which a subscription exists, the portal automatically performs its defined event actions. Additional user action may be required to address the indicated event.
