The wizard, which is used to install and upgrade Precisely products and their portal applications and the Assure UI server, requests port connections to complete its processing. The following is a high-level summary of that processing:
After the wizard is started on a PC, the user is prompted to log into an IBM i node or nodes. The wizard connects to the first node listed using host server ports for the QZRCSRVS job in the QUSRWRK subsystem and:
Distributes the stream file to install the product.
Distributes the Assure Unified Interface for install.
The wizard uses port 54321 to distribute stream files to other nodes that are part of the product instance. The wizard makes an initial attempt to distribute using port 54321. If that fails, the user can indicate which port they want the wizard to use and click Retry.
The wizard then starts the Assure UI server and provides a wizard panel with a link to log in to the Assure UI portal.
The wizard uses port 80 for HTTP requests for license updates that are sent to precisely.com (Precisely listens on port 80 for requests for license keys and also returns license keys on this port).
When the Assure MIMIX Installation Wizard for IBM i is used to install a new two-node instance, ports in the range 50410-50419 are used by default when the wizard creates configuration components for the instance.
