The Assure UI portal uses ports for email, SNMP, and licensing services. Connections are established on these ports as outbound from the Assure UI server. These ports include:

  • Port 25 (unsecured or 587 for secured) - used for SMTP requests (sending email); the email server and port used are configured in the Assure UI portal by your Assure UI administrator. For subscription services, the portal uses port 25 (typically) to send email to users who have been configured to receive notification for product events.

  • Port 80 - used for HTTP requests for license key updates that is an outbound request sent to precisely.com (Precisely listens on port 80 for requests for license keys and also returns license keys on this port).

  • Port 162 - used for sending notifications (traps) to an SNMP monitoring software application. The port for the SNMP application is configured in the Assure UI portal by your Assure UI administrator. When subscriptions are configured with an event action of Send SNMP notification, the portal uses this port to send notifications to the associated SNMP monitoring application that has been configured to receive notification for product events..
