If you installed or upgraded a Precisely product using commands from the native user interface on an IBM i system, the associated portal application has been restored on the product’s nodes. The portal application must be added to the Assure UI server manually to make the portal application available for use. The Add Assure UI Portal App. (ADDVSIAPP) command will make a Precisely portal application available for use within the Assure UI portal.

Note: Note:If you installed or upgraded a product with a portal application using a product installation wizard, you do not need to perform this task. Any new or upgraded portal applications are automatically made available to the Assure UI server during the wizard installation process.

For any Precisely product, only one version of a portal application can be available for use at any given time. Portal applications with a version prior to that of the currently available portal application for a product will not be added. Portal applications for a product with a version that is equal to or more recent than that of the currently available portal application will replace the currently available portal application.

When the Assure UI server is not at the required version or is not installed

If you have a portal application on a node because you installed a product, but the Assure UI server is not at a level that supports the latest portal application or is not installed, do the following to make a portal application available:

Download your product’s Installation Wizard from Support and use it to install the Assure UI server. The wizard will make available to the server the latest of any portal applications that were previously restored on the node that are supported by this version of the Assure UI portal.

When the Assure UI server is installed at a compatible version

If you upgraded a product using native user interface processes and the Assure UI server is installed at a level which supports the latest portal applications, do the following to make a portal application available:

  1. End the Assure UI server using Ending the Assure UI server - IBM i.

  2. From a command line, enter the command: VSI001LIB/ADDVSIAPP.

  3. The Add Assure UI Portal App. (ADDVSIAPP) display appears. At the Portal application prompt, specify the product.

    To view a list of products for which portal applications are eligible to be added, press F4 (Prompt).

  4. Press Enter.

The portal application will be available for use when the server is started.
