The navigation area on the left displays the Home folder first and My Folder second, followed by the configured product instances in alphabetical order.

When a license that can be managed from the Assure UI portal requires action, a status icon appears next to the Home folder in the navigation area. To access license information and update licenses, select the License Summary action from the Portal Connections portlet on the Home page.

When an instance requires action, a status icon appears next to the instance name in the navigation area. Clicking on the instance name takes you to the Summary page for that instance or the last page you viewed in the current session. An instance will not have an icon in the navigation area when there are no reported problems.

The Instance Status portlet is on the Home page of the Home folder and shows the status for each instance. This portlet also provides toolbar actions to access the Did You Know? window which provides information and links to videos about functions and features offered through the Assure UI portal, and the Welcome Tour which provides information and tips about using the portal.

The status reported for a product instance is determined by that product and indicates whether action is required.

  • A green square  in the Instance Status portlet indicates that there are no issues that require user action. This icon is not displayed in the navigation area for the instance.

  • Any status other than a green square indicates an issue with the instance.

  • You can hover over the icon for more information.

  • To see details about the problem, click on the icon or instance name in the navigation area. The first time you do this, the Summary page for the instance is displayed, with all reported problems listed. Thereafter and until you log out, the portal remembers where you were in the instance and returns you there.

Statuses in the navigation area and the Instance Status portlet on the Home page refresh automatically. Status information in portlets on other pages, including pages provided by portal applications, may refresh less frequently and you may need to refresh the browser window to see updated status.

Instance status values are described in the help for the Instance Status portlet.

Instance status values

The status value displayed represents the overall status of the instance.

Note: Note:Instances for more than one product can be displayed in this portlet. Each product determines which of the following status values it will support in this portlet. Some of the status values may not be use in every product.

Possible Values

Action required. An error occurred that requires user intervention.

Message waiting.A message requires a user response.

Unknown. Some or all status information is unavailable or inaccurate and user intervention is required to fix the problem.

Caution.A mixture of critical (red) conditions and other states exists. Some processes may be ended while others are active or have less severe problems. This can be an error condition or an indication that processing is changing states (going down or coming up).

Switching. Action Required. For an instance of the Assure MIMIX portal application, a virtual switch is in progress. (Note that when a virtual switch is in progress, a stopped status takes precedence.)

Stopped. An Instance is stopped, not active, or unresponsive.

Held.An item is held and requires user intervention to release it.

Switching. The flow of replication data is in the process of changing direction.

Attention. Some part of processing is within a threshold, or a condition exists that is either automatically correctable, or is a non-critical condition. This state typically corrects itself, but if not the user may need to investigate.

Attention. The product is not configured. To configure the product, click on the instance.

Unknown. Some or all status information is unavailable or inaccurate. This state typically corrects itself, but if not the user may need to investigate. It is common to see this status when you first log in and view your instances.

In progress.A task is being performed that affects the entire instance and cannot be interrupted while in progress.

OK.No action is required. The Instance or process is in a healthy state.

Disabled or inactive. The instance has been manually disabled or deactivated and is currently not in use.
