You can change a rule regardless of its status. There may be greyed out fields that can only be changed from the 5250 user interface.
Note: We recommend that you make changes in a test environment first and test the rule's operation before implementing the change in your production environment.
To change a rule:
- Click on a rule name or select the Details action for a rule.

Select the tab for the desired attribute type and change the fields as needed.
Option Description Details Attributes for rule priority, status, and description. See Details fields. In the Default rule, these fields cannot be changed. Users Attributes that determine if the rule is applicable according the context of the request. See Selection Criteria fields. In the Default rule, these fields cannot be changed. Authentication Attributes that identify the authentication criteria. See Authentication fields. Advanced Attributes for the hosted initial program, and for programs and commands to be run when the rule is selected by the rules engine to authenticate a request. See Advanced fields. - If needed, select another tab and make changes.
- Click Save.
