License Manager version 10.0.13.00 is included with Assure Security 7.0.08.00.
Precisely is making security improvements to License Manager. As of License Manager 10.0.13.00, Product Level Security (PLS) will be turned on by default. Although Assure Security is not implementing Product Level Security at this time, an upgrade to License Manager 10.0.13.00 will impact the ability to install future Assure Security releases, service packs, and fixes.
Product-level security (PLS) is License Manager functionality that enforces additional product authority and command authority functions that may be available within an installed Precisely product that is separate from the object authority provided by the operating system. When using Product Level Security, you must specify each user who is authorized to use License Manager along with the level of access for each user (*DSP, *OPR, *MGT, *ADM, or *EXCL).
With License Manager 10.0.13.00, Product Level Security is now required to be enabled for the LAKEVIEW library. You will need to configure Product Level Security for License Manager to grant *ADM authority to the user profiles that will need to install Assure Security or add license keys. The procedures outlined in the “License Manager for IBM i products” manual, under “Changing product-level security” section will enable you to add additional users.
