To improve transfer rates between the PC and the IBM i system or partition, we recommend that you change power management settings for Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections on the PC on which the wizard will be used. To access the appropriate settings from Windows, do the following:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, click the Gear icon (Settings), then click Network & Internet.

  2. Click Change adapter options. This opens the Network Connections folder.

  3. For the Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections that can be used for accessing the IBM i system or partition where you plan to install or upgrade software, do the following:
    1. Right-click on the connection. and click Properties.

    2. In the Properties dialog, click Configure, then select the Power Management tab.

    3. De-select the checkbox for Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    4. Click OK.
