Before starting an installation or an upgrade of Assure Security, ensure that your system meets the following requirements for system value settings.

To access options to display or change these system values, use the command: WRKSYSVAL SYSVAL(name)

To install or upgrade the product, the following system values are required:
  • QALWOBJRST - Allow object restore option
    Setting: *ALWPGMADP or *ALL
    Required so that software installation and fix installation processes function correctly. If this is not set, the installation process will end with an error.
  • QALWUSRDMN - Allow user domain objects in libraries
    Setting: *ALL
    Required for the product to function when QSECURITY is 30 or higher.
  • QLIBLCKLVL - Library locking level
    Setting: 1
    Required by the product instance so that product processes complete successfully.
  • QSECURITY - System security level
    Setting: 30 or higher
    Strongly recommended.
  • QSYSLIBL - System part of the library list
    Setting: cannot include library QTEMP.
    If present before installing or upgrading, remove library QTEMP from the system library list on the system in the instance. If QTEMP is included in QSYSLIBL, the installation process will end with an error.

To operate the Assure Security product, you may need to change additional system values to ensure that system information that you want to protect is available to the licensed features to which you are authorized.

QSYSLIBL - System part of the library list
Setting: must include QSYS, QSYS2, and QUSRSYS.
